Dr. Jaimee Yang, CAST-USA Vice President 2016-current, Secretary General 2015, CAST-UT President 2012, graduated from Beijing Tsinghua University with BS and PhD degrees. She currently works at the University of Utah as a research scientist. Her research interests are nanotechnology and nanomaterials and the broad applications in renewable energies and optoelectronic sensors. She has enjoyed being a volunteer to serve the Asian American community and help build up sound friendships among different groups of people.
Dr. Zhonghua Zhan is currently working as a Senior Engineer at Reaction Engineering International, a consulting company in Energy and Environment field. He earned his Ph.D. degree from Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Utah in 2015 and Bachelor and Master degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2008 and 2011, respectively. He has over ten peer reviewed publications and serves as a reviewer for several international journals.
Ms. Lian Feng received her Master’s Degree in Educational Management in China and came to work in Utah from 2009. As a current member of CAST-UT, she is active in community and educational events.
Dr. Ching holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Utah State University, an MBA from the University of Utah EMBA Program, and a B.A. degree in Management from Peking University in China. She has served on the adjunct faculty for University of Phoenix since 2009, teaching online courses in macro and micro economics.
Dr. Jie Wang is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Statistics at Brigham Young University since 2014. She did doctoral work at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Statistics under the direction of Henry Block and Thomas Savits, receiving her Ph.D. in 2008. She received B.S. degrees from University of Science and Technology of China in 2002. Before BYU, Dr. Wang was a visiting professor at Grand Valley State University in Michigan (2008-2010) and a lecturer at San Jose State University in California (2011-2012).
Ms. Ying Ma graduated from Beijing University of Physical Education. She had her B.S. for sport biochemistry in 1984. She worked in Beijing Institute of Sports Science for 4 years. She came to University of Utah in 1988 and got M.S. degree in Medical Laboratory Science in 1991. She is a Research Associate in Division of Immunology and Molecular Biology, Department of Pathology University of Utah. She had 32 publications in U.S. with 6 were first author. She joined the CAST-Utah in 2002 and became lifetime member in 2012.
Chongwen (Stephen) Fan is a System Administrator in Davis Technical College. With strong experience managing server infrastructures and data-center operations across multi operation platforms. Proven ability to create and deliver solutions tried to business growth. Chongwen graduated with major of Computer Science from University of Utah in 2011. He has been worked as Data Analysis in VA center, IT Specialist in local professional civil engineering company and now System Administrator in Davis Technical College. Chongwen has a great passion to help and serve in local Chinese association. He worked as a PR in Chinese Student and Scholars Association at University of Utah for 4 years. Being a photographer and web designer in CAST – UT for 2 years. Got involved in lots of local activities and performance. Being a fantastic social worker and friend is always his memo.
Xiaolong Li is a Ph.D. candidate in Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah. He graduated from Hebei University of Technology with a bachelor degree in Thermal Energy and Power Engineering in 2016. He became a member at CAST-UT since 2016 and was elected as the Secretary General in 2018. He is currently working at the university in research fields of energy and environment.
Dr. Gangqiang (Victor) Wang earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from TsinghuaUniversity, China, in 1996 and served the university as an associate professor till 2000. He worked as a research associate and assistant professor at the University of Arkansas on electronic materials and electronic packaging from 2001 to 2006. He is currently the Director of Device Processing at EmiSense Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, a technology leader in the field of emission sensors and emission control systems for truck and automobile engines as well as stationary power systems. Dr. Wang has been a peer reviewer for several journals and the associate editor of Journal of Microelectronics and Electronic Packaging. He is a senior member of IEEE and a member of IMAPS. Dr. Wang is an active CAST-UTAH member contributing to various events and activities organized by the association and the local Chinese communities.
Dr. Xiao He earned his Ph.D. in Immunology from Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1995 and M.D. in medicine from Chongqing Medical College in 1982. Since 2006, he has been working with Department of Pathology, University of Utah as a research assistance professor. His research is sponsored by various grant resources. Dr. He has received numerous honors and rewards such as NIH National Research Service Award. He authored a number of peer-reviewed publications.
Mrs. Dandan Yang received her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2003 and came to USA with her husband in 2004. She is a mother of two boys and currently works as a Real Estate Agent at Coldwell Banker. Mrs. Dandan Yang has been very enthusiastic at community engagement. She was the PTA board member of her sons’ elementary school from 2010 to 2016, and was promoted to the Vice President of PTA from 2014 to 2016. Since moving to UT in 2016, she has been an active life time member (2017) of CAST-UT.
Ms. Xuemei An is a training and education professional. She has worked in corporate human resource development with companies such as Nokia and News Corporation and in higher ed. such as her current employer, Western Governors University. Although she misses her face to face training days, she enjoys leading online education projects for the school.
Ms. Yuli Lin,
Dr. Weili Cheng is Of Counsel with the firm of Clayton Howarth & Cannon and also VP, legal of LSK Biopartners. She holds Bachelor of Science(Biological Sciences) and Master of Science (Virology) degrees from Wuhan University, and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology degree and J.D. from theUniversity of Utah. She has 15 years of experience in biotechnology research and teaching and has published scientific papers in the fields of virology, molecular genetics, enzymology, microbiology, and molecular evolution. Dr. Cheng’s practice focuses on U.S. and international patenting of inventions in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, and biomedical products. She is admitted in Utah; United States Appeals Court for the Federal Circuit; and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She is also a member of American Intellectual Property Law Association; Utah Bar Intellectual Property Section. She is life time member of CAST-UT since 2000.
Mr. Dong is a Sr. Implementation Engineer at SunGard Data Systems, the largest financial software company in the world. Prior to SunGard, he spent over 15 years as Staff Software Engineer, Tech Lead, Project Manager, Sr. Software Engineer and Firmware Engineer at LANDesk Software Inc., Ovid Inc., SCO Group Inc., Intel Inc., and Enterasys Networks Inc. Mr. Dong’s R&D interests include Multi-tier applications, Web Service, Big Data, routing protocols. vPro and network security. He helped successfully build and push over 6 products to market.
Dr. Le Wan, CAST-USA Vice-President, CAST-UT President 2013, is a Research Scientist at the Consortium for Electromagnetic Modeling and Inversion, Dept. of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Utah. He is currently principle of the Oriental Chinese School.
Mr. Bill Jiang, CAST-USA Vice President, CAST-UT President 2007, received his MS/BS from Chongqing University and MS from University of Utah. He has been an active life time member of CAST-USA and served as Vice President of CAST-USA in 2009, President of CAST Utah Chapter in 2007. He has been actively involved with CAST-UT and CAST-USA, helped and led several CAST teams to work on various collaboration projects both in US and China in the past years. He is founder and President of US New Century Group, Inc., and founder and Vice President of CQU Alumni, USA. Now, he works as a diamond club member broker at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Utah. He has published 1 book, 7 papers and awarded 3 prizes in mining and environmental engineering.
Mr. Yuanzong Fu is one of the founder members of CAST-UT. Since 1991, Mr. Fu has been working at the University of Utah and various companies in Utah. He has over 26 academic publications and presentations nationally and internationally and holds two patents. Mr. Fu is one of the finalists of the 3rd “Spring Cup” Creative Venture Competition held in China in August, 2008. Yuanzong is very active in community services.
