(https://coronavirus.1point3acres.com/)
http://castut.org/covid-19/utah0724.png.

【7/18-7/24 COVID-19 Briefing by Utah Chinese Communities 6:00pm Mountain Time】
=== Safety Measures for COVID-19:Keep Social Distancing, Wear a Facial Mask, Frequently Wash Your Hands, Get Test If You Have a Symptom. ===
- U.S. Confirmed Cases: 4,201,000 (+479,741, or +68,534 per day from 07/18 to 07/24), Deaths: 147,855 (+6,416, or +917 per day), Recovered: 1,257,598 (+166,558, or +23,794 per day). (https://coronavirus.1point3acres.com/).
- Utah COVID-19 Cases reported by Utah Department of Health as of today: 36,962 confirmed cases total, number of people tested 494,071, positive rate 7.48%; death cases 273, death rate 0.74%; estimated recovered cases 23,715, and active cases 12,974; currently hospitalized 225, and accumulated hospitalization 2,188, 5.92% of the total cases. The average growth is 1.91% per day for the last 14 days, and 1.62% for the last 7 days. The average number of new cases was 628 cases per day in last 14 days. http://www.castut.org/covid-19/utah0724en.png. Distribution in counties/areas in the format of “cases/ hospitalization/ death”: Salt Lake 17,686/ 1,150/ 156, Utah 6,938/ 323/ 31, Southwest Utah 2,672/ 148/ 22, Davis 2,616/ 147/ 10, Weber-Morgan 2,268/ 141/ 24, Bear River 2,049/ 82/ 5, Summit 658/ 52/ 1, San Juan 566/ 73/ 19, Wasatch 508/ 20/ 4, Tooele 472/ 21/ 0, Central Utah 328/ 19/ 1, TriCounty 132/ 8/ 0, Southeast Utah 69/ 4/ 0.
- COVID Risk in the Uintah County, Flaming Gorge area: As coronavirus cases continue to rise in Utah’s “green” counties, where COVID-19 restrictions have been loosened, a study of sewage in one rural area shows the numbers there may be even higher than reported. COVID-19 was detected in multiple sewage treatment facilities in the Uintah Basin: Dutch John, Ashley Valley and Roosevelt. And in Dutch John, which is near Flaming Gorge, the virus levels were particularly high, which is comparable, per capita, to the levels in Logan and Park City— two places where outbreaks have prompted local officials to call for mask requirements. Source: https://www.sltrib.com/news/2020/07/23/covid-hospitalizations/
- Face Masks: An AP-NORC survey in July 16-20 finds 3 out of 4 adult Americans favor requiring face masks in public. Delta Air Lines permanently bans at least 120 flyer customers for refusing to wear masks in the flights. Salt Lake County mayor announced that that face coverings and other interventions implemented by Salt Lake County are having a positive impact on saving lives and helping economic relief. Logan mayor proposes for a citywide mask mandate in ‘critical period’ that has drawn mixed reactions from Cache County council members and city residents. The governor said a statewide mask mandate is still a possible tool, but a business mask mandate could be a possible option, adding that the Salt Lake Chamber and business community “like” that approach. If you want to persuade people to wear masks, just shaming them won’t work. Empathy is a smarter approach: Acknowledge what people dislike about masks, instead of telling them to stop whining.
