CAST-UT’s Open Letter to “Secure Campus Act”

On May 27, Senator Tom Cotton, Senator Marsha Blackburn, and Representative David Kustoff introduced the “Secure Campus Act”. Details are available here: https://www.cotton.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=1371. The Act is intended to target ALL international students from China for the ties with the Chinese Communist Party. However, considering there is no evidence to support the assumption of such a tie, the ACT turns out to be nothing but racial profiling and discrimination against innocent international students from China. We express our concern about the ACT with our open response letter.
