Karen Kwan, advisor to the Utah Chinese Alliance Against covid-19/Coronavirus, together with the Utah Chinese Folk Orchestra Director Mr. Terry Chen, donated 100 N95/KN95 masks to Dr. Barlow of the Ogden Regional Medical Center (ORMC), on behalf of the Alliance.   3. 犹他州修改了COVID-19的检测要求。从今天起有以下任何症状单独人都可进行检测:1) 发烧;2) 咳嗽;3) 呼吸困难;4) 喉咙疼痛;5) 肌肉疼痛;6) 失去味觉或嗅觉。检测对于疫情防控异常重要,同时也有利于对重启经济的政策决定。
  4. 犹他州卫生厅UDOH建立了本州的从COVID-19“康复”的定义,即:从被诊断为COVID-19病例之日起至三周后没有死亡的患者就被认为是康复了。截至今天,犹他州已有218名患者从COVID-19疾病中康复。
  5. 由于过多的未通过边境的犹他人收到COVID-19声明的短信提醒,此前犹他州边界处的自动短信警报系统已于今天下午12:17pm关闭。取而代之的是用交通厅的道路信息板进行提醒。详情请见:https://entry.utah.gov/
  6. 盐湖郡“居家安全法令”已经延期到五月一号。所有盐湖郡的居民应避免不必要的出行并呆在家里。同时,警察并不会去强制居民遵守而是试图教育民众来遵从该法令。违反该法令的居民有可能会被指控B级轻罪。但犯罪指控总是最后的选项。

  2. Utah COVID-19 Cases reported by Utah Department of Health as of today: 2,363(+60) confirmed cases total, number of people tested 45,787, positive rate 5.16%; Hospitalization 201(+6), 8.51% of the total cases; death cases 18, death rate 0.76%; recovered cases 218 (data from 1point3acres.com). The growth of coronavirus cases in Utah has been mainly following subexponential growth trend (p=0.59): http://www.castut.org/covid-19/utah0413en.png. The average growth is 6.81% per day for the last 14 days, and 5.14% for the last 7 days.   3. The State of Utah has adjusted the requirements to test for COVID-19. As of today, if you have any of the following six symptoms, you should seek testing: 1) fever 2) cough 3) shortness of breath 4) sore throat 5) muscle aches 6) loss of taste or smell. Testing is a cornerstone to assess the scope of the pandemic; broad testing can help policy-decision on re-opening strategies
  4. UDOH has established the state’s definition of “Recovery” from COVID-19, that is, any COVID-19 patient has not passed away after three weeks since the date being diagnosed as a COVID-19 case. As of today, 218 patients in Utah have been recovered from COVID-19 disease.
  5. So many Utahns have received the alert message without even closing to the border. The message alert system has been turned off today at 12:17 PM. Instead, the Utah Department of Traffic VMS signs are used. More details can be found here: https://entry.utah.gov/.
  6. Salt Lake County has extended the “Stay Home Stay Safe” order through May 1st. All Salt Lake County residents should avoid unnecessary travel and stay home. The police department will not charge the public criminally if they violate the order. Instead, the police department wants to educate and tell the people to comply. Violations of any emergency proclamation can subject individuals to a class B misdemeanor.  CRIMINAL VIOLATIONS ARE A LAST RESORT.
