In the NIAID trial testing the antiviral drug remdesivir in Covid-19 patients, the drug showed a 31% improvement on median time to recovery: 11 days in the drug arm compared to 15 days in the placebo arm. Patients taking the drug were less likely to die, with an 8.0% mortality rate in the drug arm compared to an 11.6% on placebo. The FDA has been engaged in sustained and ongoing discussions with Gilead Sciences regarding making remdesivir avaiable to patients as quickly as possible, as appropriate.

- Utah Leads Together 2.0 – the state roadmap for recovery, includes guidelines for general employer after May 1 reopening their business at moderate risk for COVID-19: Employers exercise extreme caution, with employees working remotely, evaluating workforce concerns, and enacting strategies to minimize economic impact. - As the pandemic continues, stress and anxiety are on the rise. Staying home may protect some from becoming infected with COVID-19 but for others it puts them at an increased risk for violence and abuse.
