五月七号下午，犹他华人抗疫互助联盟副主席盛晓明和联盟执委陳由義，代表联盟向美国志愿者组织(VOA)的犹他捐赠中心捐赠了 2000个口罩。On May 7th, on behalf of the Chinese Utahns Alliance Against COVID-19 (CUAAC), Xiaoming Sheng, vice Chair of CUAAC and Terrence Chen, director of CUAAC, donated 2000 disposable masks to Volunteer of America Utah Donation Center.

  3. In Utah, 31 of the state’s 71 deaths have been attributed to long-term care centers. At least nine residents of Highland Cove Retirement Community in Millcreek have died from COVID-19. In Salt Lake City, five residents of the memory support unit at The Ridge Foothill senior living center died. Utah Department of Health will begin to go to more than 300 long-term care facilities to screen any staffer who has contact with residents. Updates of COVID-19 University of Utah hospitals related policies:  1) In-car COVID-19 testing in Park City has moved to Intermountain Healthcare’s Park City Hospital; 2) all U of U Health patients must receive pre-op COVID-19 screening before surgical procedures. Patients with semi-urgent procedures (<24 hours) must only be tested at Farmington, South Jordan, or Sugar House. Other patients may visit any U of U Health testing tent at least two days before a scheduled procedure.
  5. To help those groups stay safe from the virus even as restrictions continue relaxing statewide, Utah Department of Human Services announced a new hotline for at-risk individuals who may need meal, grocery or medication delivery. The hotline, 1-877-424-4640, will remain open Mondays-Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
  6. The Wellness Bus will be providing FREE COVID-19 TESTING on Friday, May 15 from 3-7pm at Centro Civico (155 S 600 W).  People with and without symptoms can be tested.   7. Utah assistance of business after reopening: 1) COVID-19 Commercial Rental Assistance Program: Utah small businesses that rent commercial property may receive pandemic relief from the legislature. Utah S.B. 3006 provides $40 for the program. Its purpose is to coordinate COVID-19 related efforts and information in the outbreak period. The daily briefing has shared key information among Chinese Utahans for nearly 2 months since the outbreak.
