旅美科协犹他分会举办饺子节活动通知
11月22日星期六下午四点，犹他科协将在食为天餐馆举办第三届饺子节，介绍饺子的起源，并免费教学包饺子。欢迎热爱中华文化的各方人士参加。有英文翻译服务。品尝饺子每人$5，五岁以下小孩免费。餐馆地址：食为天餐厅23 E 2100 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84115。
为了宣传中国饮食文化，锻炼小朋友们的独立和参与精神，届时还将举办“小菜一碟”儿童厨艺展示活动。
小朋友们，你最爱吃的中国饭菜是什么？你家谁是大厨？你有没有一个拿手菜，给我们展示展示？快快学做一道好吃又健康的中国菜吧！
此次活动欢迎5-17岁的少年儿童参加。每人独立做一种中国食品。食品形式不拘一格，做菜，点心，汤，粥，面，零食什么都行。（尽可能的用中文）介绍它的制作过程，或讲个和这个食品相关的故事，然后和大家一起品尝。每个参与活动的小朋友都将获得一份奖品。如果您的孩子准备参加食品展示，请提前电邮安雪梅 xuemeian06@yahoo.com 登记，以便我们为孩子准备奖品。
注意事项：
– 食品请事先在家里做好
– 鼓励孩子独立完成食品制作
– 特别希望孩子用中文完成介绍

The Chinese Association for Science and Technology in Utah (CAST) is proud to announce the 3rd annual Chinese Dumpling Festival in Salt Lake City.
The delightful and delicious Chinese dumplings are beloved by Chinese and many people around the world. Its history traces back to 1800 years ago when a doctor intended to use it to treat frostbite around the ears of his neighbors. Who knows if it cured the frostbite, but it sure became a favorite in the Chinese cuisine and a must during special Chinese holidays.
CAST would like to invite all dumpling lovers to join us for an afternoon of wholesome family fun and great food. We will show you how to make the yummy delights from scratch. Get ready for some fun kneading, folding and wrapping! We will then cook what you’ve made and enjoy them together.
A Kids Chinese Dish Showcase will be held at the festival. Kids 5 to 17 are invited to bring one Chinese food item that is handmade, homemade and self-made to the festival for display and tasting. Kids will be asked to do a brief show-and-tell of the food item, tell a story related to it and/or answer audience questions. Each participant will be awarded a small prize. If your child is interested in participating in the food showcase, please register with Xuemei An xuemeian06@yahoo.com so we can prepare the prize accordingly.
